Being nice costs nothing – These guys and girls sign a ton of discs and take heaps of photos, and nothing is ever a problem. No matter how their round went, they’re still smiling.
Keep going – There’s no time to switch off. They just keep coming at you, always chasing birdies or eagles if they’re there. You’ve got to be switched on every hole.
Respect the competition – Every great shot got a cheer, even if it hurt their chances. They love the game that much. And when they lost, there’s no moping, well maybe for a second. They are just as excited for their competition to win. And from where I was, I get why - they’ve deserved that win.
Parting Thought
Being thoughtful to those around you makes you memorable. Ezra gave me a special gift - a disc signed by all the US pros. But what made it special wasn’t just the disc itself, although it’s literally one of a kind because it’s one the first of three discs his new sponsor made for him, but the effort he put into making it happen. He told me I had carried it around for two days while he got every signature. Basically, it was behind my back because I had no idea and all the pros didn’t say a word about it. It’s very cool and I will treasure the memories it will bring back for me.
