A man speeding through a neighbourhood ignored the world around him until a boy threw a brick at his new car.

Bang!

The boy wasn't being reckless. His brother had fallen out of his wheelchair, and no one else would stop. The brick was his last resort, so he threw it, knowing it might end badly for him, hoping he would get the help he needed.

He got it, and the man learned a lesson. So that dent stayed in the car. A permanent reminder not to go so fast through life that someone has to throw a brick to get his attention.

Most of the time, life doesn't throw bricks. It sends signals, and they show up in small ways:

  1. The tiredness that keeps creeping in.
  2. The conversations that feel tense.
  3. The gut feeling you ignore because you're too busy.
  4. The chance that appears quietly disappears when you look the other way.

The challenge is that we rush past these signals. We drown them out with noise, busyness, and excuses. We tell ourselves we'll deal with it later. But the longer we ignore the signals, the louder they get - until the brick arrives. Swiftly and with a bang!

Signals are life's early warnings and quiet opportunities. They're there to protect you, guide you, and remind you what really matters. If you listen, they'll steer you away from regret and toward purpose.

This week's motivator:

Slow down. Notice the signals. Act on them while they're still small. Bricks always hurt more than signals.

Prompt for the week:

What signal in your life is asking for your attention right now?
